Meet Gary Wood: Motability Aftercare Advisor and All-Round Nice Guy
July 16, 2021 TBC Conversions Company NewsTBC Mobility
As the team at TBC Conversions expands further, we look forward to introducing our team members to our customers, colleagues, and peers. This week it’s the turn of Gary Wood, who has joined the Motability Aftercare Team at TBC Conversions in Bromborough, to help our customers and Motability leaseholders maintain their vehicles.
Let’s see what Gary had to say when we asked him a few questions.
So, Gary, how did you come to work at TBC Conversions?
Well, one of the things that are great at TBC Conversions is that all the staff welcome you like family. Funny thing is, when I applied for the vacancy advertised for the Motability Aftercare team, I didn’t know that a long term peer had recently started with TBC too.
Anita Sheard and I have worked together for years in the past, in a fast-paced motor dealership, and we’ve always had a great working relationship so it was kind of like fate that she already worked here.
How do you think you can help TBC Conversions customers in your new role?
So far, I’ve found there’s a high level of support and expert guidance we offer here at TBC Conversions. We aim to help and assist Motability Lease customers with all their wheelchair accessible vehicle aftercare, but also, we’re here to help with things like servicing and MOT bookings.
We try and stay up to date with all Motability news and developments to give our customers the best possible service.
What you do see for the future of TBC Conversions?
The only way is up. Even in the short time I’ve been with the company, there has been a lot of change. Parts of experience and improvement processes that have been brought in from new employees, plus there’s a real buzz about being able to get out and about to see our customers with fewer restrictions.
What is it that makes you get up in the morning?
I have always been excited to get going in the morning.
As well as being grateful for my family, I really am grateful to be able to get up and get to work. I think that so far, I’ve found working closely with the Motability Scheme is really rewarding. I’m now helping people who really need it every day and giving them the freedom and independence that, without companies like TBC Conversions, they might not have access to.
What’s the best thing about your role with TBC Conversions?
Working with such a great team with shared goals and enthusiasm for the job. We all feel the same way about the important work we are doing and it’s that plus interacting with such a wide range of customers that I’ve really enjoyed.
How do you think TBC Conversions stand out from other converters?
Other than the dedication from the team, I think there are some seriously innovative technologies at work by the R&D team, engineers, and technicians at TBC Conversions production space in Dungannon and Bromborough.
Our T6.1 Range boasts the highest entry height on the market, exclusive to TBC Conversions, and then there’s our continuous rear door seal which we fit to every one of our WAV’s that was developed specifically for the comfort of our customers.
It’s little things like this, plus the personalised service and the extra effort that every member of the TBC Conversions team delivers which I believe puts us head and shoulders above other mobility vehicle converters.
Finally, a question we’ve asked all of the team so far, what would your dream car be and why?
It’s got to be the DeLorean from Back to the Future so I can go back in time and redo some of the silly things I’ve done in the past.
We think Gary has fit right into the TBC Conversions family as a valued member of the Motability Scheme aftercare team. His experience in the motor industry, paired with a kind-hearted and friendly nature, make him a valuable asset to the team and a great help to customers with wheelchair accessible vehicles under the Motability Scheme.
