Who are Motability and what do they do?

TBC Conversions work in partnership with Motability Operations UK enabling us to provide high-quality wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs) and adaptations to customers across the UK and Northern Ireland.

We are proud to be able to utilise such combined expertise and experience to help transform the lives of our customers who require mobility and wheelchair adaptations.

Since 2012 TBC Conversions have been recognised as an approved Motability Supplier and from then on the partnership has grown from strength to strength. Today we supply and convert over 500 specially adapted vehicles across the UK and Ireland.

Together with the Motability Scheme, TBC Mobility Conversions operate as a leading market WAV supplier, designing and developing innovative products to suit the ever-growing unique needs of each of our customers.

1.The Motability Scheme

Motability is a national charity whose purpose is to help disabled people and their families with their personal mobility. The scheme, together with approved partners such as TBC Conversions facilitate the exchange of a government allocated mobility allowance for personal travel needs.

2. How it all works

The Motability Scheme provides a simple way to lease a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle without the worry of owning and running your own car.

Simply use all, or part of your mobility allowance to lease your vehicle and payments will be deducted from your allowance. The standard lease is 5 years and during this time the Motability Scheme takes care of everything from insurance and breakdown cover, to servicing and repairs.

3. Types of Vehicle

Small, medium or large (even XL) it doesn’t matter. What’s important to us is that we get you on the road in safety, comfort and style. Our team of mobility consultants provide free home demonstrations to anyone living in the UK or Ireland, and all our mobility vehicles are converted with Intelligence, Empathy and Care.

4. How will my WAV work for me?

At TBC Mobility Conversions we work with a variety of the best manufacturers and suppliers and can therefore offer a wide range of mobility aids. From hand controls, hoists, swivel seats and steering aids to fold away ramps, tail lifts, side lifts and ergonomic seating layouts. We’ve got you covered.
